***Hommy ham is a classic dish in many households, especially during festive occasions and holiday feasts.***

Hommy ham ingredients:

  • 1 bone-in pork ham (6-8 pounds)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).

Combine all ingredients except pork, pepper and salt in a small pan. Heat in a low heat. Stir mixture until smooth to make the glaze.

Place the ham in a large roasting pan, skin-side up. Using a blade, score the surface of the ham in a crisscross pattern. This will help the glaze penetrate the meat. Brush the glaze generously over the scored ham.

Cover the ham with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for approximately 15-18 minutes per pound. Baste ham with the glaze every 30 minutes.

Remove it from the oven and let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more succulent ham.

“With the right ingredients and a little patience, you can create a mouthwatering Hommy ham that is perfect for special occasions or a memorable family meal.”
